Homemade French Fries - Recipe
I haven't provided amounts here. You'll want to use one or two potatoes per serving depending on the size of your potatoes.
You'll need 2 to 4 cups of oil depending on how many servings you are making.
Don't overcrowd your fries. Overcrowding will cause breakage and uneven cooking. To use less oil, prepare your French fries in several batches.
Ingredients
Potatoes
Vegetable Oil
Salt (optional)
Directions
*Peel and wash potatoes.
*Slice potatoes into 1/2 x 1/2 inch strips.
*Rinse or soak potato strips in water.
*Let dry (about 5 minutes)
*Drop potato strips into hot (375 degrees) Oil
*Fry until golden brown. (about 5 or 10 minutes)
*Remove from pot and drain on paper towels.
If you're using salt, sprinkle it now.
Serve immediately.
